About the business and the role

This large supplies firm dominates several key segments within the industry. They are currently reassessing their costing and procurement processes. A key part of this undertaking is the cost refresh project which is expected to take at least six months. 

 

Job tasks and responsibilities

Reporting to the Group Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for leading the cost refresh project and looking at the cost drivers of several business units. You will need to partner with IT, procurement and the rest of the commercial finance team. This is a data-heavy role so you will be ready and willing to roll up your sleeves and do actual costing. And like any good costing role you will often be taken to the frontlines of the production and stock lines. 

 

Skills and experience

Key requirements of this role include: 

  • 5 years of accounting experience with a significant portion of it being focused on costing or manufacturing. 

  • ABC Costing experience

  • Exposure to the value stream map

  • The ability to partner with IT on certain task

You will be a self-starter and won't need micro-managing. This is a fast-paced environment and would suit someone who has worked in high-volume businesses in the past.
