What you would be doing

As the Deputy Director, you’ll be ensuring that you provide sound and insightful leadership to a team of 10-12.  Additionally you’ll be required to assess internal processes and procedures. Some of your daily tasks could include:

  • Delegating responsibilities of the business to the team
  • Writing large and complex business cases on quality assurance, internal processes and review
  • Challenge the business processes to design new or change existing
  • Providing sound management

 

Who are we looking for?

I’m interested in hearing from a dynamic Deputy Director with significant years of proven experience. You’ll also need to have:

  • Highly developed skills to manage complex processes including negotiations and influencing others
  • Enhanced business acumen skills and knowledges
  • The ability to communicate effectively across the different government departments
  • The ability to communicate effectively with ministers and senior leadership team
  • Proven skills to manage staff (if you have informally lead staff then please apply)
  • Ability to successfully work in a project environment
  • Have a highly developed political awareness
  • The ability to multitask and to tight deadlines
  • Proven analytical skills
  • Strong methodical with sound technical aptitude to write business cases
  • Proven experience in achieving results through team work

 

Previous experience within a New Zealand government organisation is a must.
