Tell us a little about yourself

Originally from the UK, I have been living in New Zealand since early 2017. I am a keen traveller, spending a large part of my twenties backpacking around the world. One of my bucket list goals is to visit 100 countries in my lifetime – I currently stand at 37.

My backpacking days came to an end when I arrived in New Zealand and discovered the place that I wanted to call home.

I have a keen interest in learning, especially the sciences, holding a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Sciences from The University of Manchester.

In my spare time, I like to watch and play football (soccer) and play pool.

Tell us about what you have achieved in your personal and/or work-life

Packing my life up into a backpack and jumping on a plane at the age of 22 was a nerve-racking moment, but it has allowed me to experience some of the most beautiful places in the world, meet some amazing people and create unforgettable memories.

Tell us about your career to date

As with most people in our industry, I “fell into recruitment” after graduating from university, and never looked back.

I used to recruit sales professionals across the UK. When I arrived in Auckland, I worked in Auckland Council’s recruitment team for a year, and for the last two years, I have been recruiting Accounting & Finance.

What drew you to recruitment?

As someone who loves to travel and meet people, working in a job where you get to meet new people every day in very fulfilling.

Why is recruitment important to you?

As a recruitment consultant, I get the opportunity to build genuine working relationships with clients and candidates across multiple different sectors, helping to truly understand and advise the market.

Helping to find a candidate’s perfect role, or the perfect person to complete a client’s team is an extremely rewarding feeling.
