Entry requirements

For Credit Control vacancies, our clients often seek candidates that have intermediate computer and accounting software skills which include a solid understanding of Microsoft Excel. Credit Controllers may also need to have excellent written and verbal communication skills as they often deal with customers, vendors, and clients on a daily basis. Experience handling accounts queries and good negotiation skills are also beneficial to possess as Credit Controllers may need to navigate tough situations such as escalations and disputes. Previous experience in Credit Control with a good understanding of the end-to-end Accounts Receivable process can be advantageous for more senior Credit Control positions.

What could you be doing?

Typically reporting to a Credit or Finance Manager, a Credit Controller is responsible for recovering money that is owed to the business. Their duties may include:

• Debt collection
• Credit Control
• Account queries and dealing with disputes and negotiations
• Payment allocation
• Reports & Reconciliations through Excel
• Allocating receipts to correct customer accounts and invoices
• Other ad-hoc duties as required

Progression

Credit Controllers may expect to move into a more senior Credit position. 

• Senior Credit Controller
• Senior Accounts Receivable Officer
• Credit Manager
