Entry requirements

Whilst not essential, our clients have shown interest in candidates who have previous experience in an administrative role. Having a calm, pleasant and approachable personality will also be saught-after. If you’re able to work under pressure, have good organisational skills and great attention to detail, then you may be well suited for a Receptionist role.

Salary range

$40,000 - $50,000

What could you be doing?

A Receptionist manages the front-desk or reception area of hotels, clinics, and offices that have a lot of public visitors. You may be expected to do some or all the following:

  • Greeting visitors, customers or clients, and notifying staff of their arrival

  • Answering inbound telephone calls and inquiries

  • Managing meeting rooms and ensuring public space is clean and tidy

  • Receiving and sorting mail and arranging courier and mail pick-ups

  • Managing documents, filing or organising catering

  • Other ad-hoc administrative duties


After a year or two working as a Receptionist, you may expect to move into other administrative or coordination-focused positions, such as an Administrative or Personal Assistant.
